Ruth Shushan is a retired educator who specialized in the use of music in teaching young children how to read and write. She has been singing and harmonizing her whole life, and has been a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Philharmonic choir, the Jewish folk group Neshama, and Celtic groups Single Malt and The Fair Wind. In addition to singing, Ruth plays the banjo, mountain dulcimer, bodhran (Irish drum) and piano

Mark Pancer is also a retired educator, a psychology professor who specialized in work with children and adolescents. He has played guitar since his mid-teens, and over the years has added mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki and other stringed instruments to his playing. Along with Ruth, he has also been a member of the music groups Neshama, Single Malt and The Fair Wind
